Functional Faith
Nov 9, 2025 • Pastor Q
Real faith is more than just believing something in your head—it's about living it out in your daily life. James teaches us that authentic faith is functional and active, not idle or useless. Through the examples of Abraham and Rahab, we see that genuine faith trusts God with what's precious to us, follows His guidance even without seeing the complete plan, and puts Him first above all else. Abraham was willing to sacrifice his beloved son Isaac, trusting God's goodness even when it didn't make sense. Rahab chose God over her familiar culture and lifestyle, helping the Israelite spies despite the personal cost. Both examples show us that faith leads to righteousness, which then expresses itself through our actions and choices.
