MATTHEW 5:1-2 NIV | Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them.
Jesus is available, and he wants to meet with us. To have a deep and meaningful relationship with us. He invites us to know him, and he offers to guide us on our journey through life. This happens as we open up the scriptures. The Bible is God's Word to us and the primary way he speaks to us. At Christ Chapel, we encourage personal Bible reading and offer a number of Bible studies to help you learn and grow deeper in your faith. We also have free Bibles for all ages and stages of life. Take one and read it. When you know the truth, it sets you free (John 8:31-32).
We also get to know Jesus and receive his guidance when we pray. Prayer is simply honest conversation with God. He already knows our heart, our thoughts, all of the things we want to say (Psalm 139:1-4). But he wants to hear it from us. Prayer is not us informing God; it is us inviting him in. So take time to talk to God each day.
"Come near to God and he will come near to you." (James 4:8a NIV)
